The short version
- The app runs on your computer. Your settings, favourites, play-time stats and theme progress stay there.
- We don't have accounts. We never ask for, see or store your Steam username, password or Steam Guard codes.
- We don't sell data. The app may show a clearly labelled sponsor advertisement without advertising identifiers or behavioural targeting.
What the app sends to us
To show the server list, the app downloads it from our server at flarecall.cryoss.com. Like any web request, this reveals your IP address and basic technical details (such as the app version) to our server. We use them only to deliver the list and keep the service running and secure. Server logs are kept for a short period (at most 14 days) and are not used to profile you.
When you check a server's ping or open its details, the app talks directly to that game server, the same way DayZ itself does. That server's operator can see your IP address, just as when you play.
Sponsor advertisements
The app checks flarecall.cryoss.com/sponsorships/current.json for one contextual sponsorship at startup and every five minutes while the placement is enabled for the session. Everyone receives the same campaign; we do not use your favourites, Steam identity, play history or device identifiers to choose it. These requests reveal your IP address to our server and follow the server-log purpose and retention described above.
Sponsorships contain plain text. The app loads no third-party advertising scripts, images or tracking pixels, stores no advertising cookies, and sends no impression or click events. You can hide the advertisement for the current session, which also stops further campaign checks for that session.
Only if you choose to visit a sponsor does the app open its site in your usual browser. The destination can then receive your IP address and use cookies or other technologies under its own privacy policy and browser settings. Flarecall does not attach personal identifiers to that link.
App downloads and updates
The app checks flarecall.cryoss.com for new versions and downloads installer packages from that same host. These requests expose your IP address to the server. Update status stays on your device; no account is required. This website uses no analytics, advertising scripts or remote fonts.
What goes through Steam
Mods are downloaded by the Steam client already running on your computer, under your existing Steam session. Flarecall asks Steam to subscribe to and download the Workshop items a server needs. That activity is between you and Valve and is covered by Steam's own privacy policy.
Crash reports (planned)
We plan to add optional crash reports to help fix bugs. They will be off unless you say yes, you will be asked first, and you can turn them off at any time in Settings. They will contain technical details about the crash, not your Steam identity.
Game server data
The server list contains information that DayZ servers publish to everyone: server name, IP address and port, map, player counts and mod list. This is public game-server data. If you run a server and want something corrected, contact us.
This website
This site uses no cookies, no analytics and no third-party scripts or fonts. Our web server keeps standard access logs (IP address, time, page requested) for security, for at most 14 days.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are in the EU or UK, you have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to or restrict its use, and to data portability. Because we hold almost nothing (short-lived server logs), most requests are simple. Email us and we will reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority; in Poland that is the Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych (UODO).
Our legal basis for processing server logs is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Optional crash reports, once available, will be based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)).
Who is responsible
The data controller is Burak, trading as cryoss.com, Poznań, Poland.

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
